| SLICT Awareness sessions in
Hampshire
Date: 30-06-2005
Anthony and Gale have hosted five SLICT Awareness
sessions across Hampshire for head teachers and ICT Coordinators
in the past fortnight.
These were held at Stubbington, Eastleigh, Ringwood,
Basingstoke and Smannell and attended by almost 120 delegates from
mainly primary schools but with a few secondary and special school
head teachers also.
The aim was to acquaint head teachers with the
background and current programme for SLICT training and encourage
them to apply for a SLICT programme before the deadline in Easter
2006.
The response has been very positive. NCSL has taken
this idea and, with Anthony acting as organiser, is extending this
process across England with almost 50 LEAs and CLCs now signed up
with a SLICT Provider for Awareness sessions. The Hampshire SLICT
team has been allotted nine programmes between September and March,
all of which will involve Anthony, Gale and Tony.
