We have a total of over
100 years' experience in the field of educational ICT development
and will be seeking to add to that over the coming years, as well
as exploring other, non-educational areas.
All areas are described in greater detail on the
company site.
Our other areas of expertise and enthusiasm are
as follows:
Curriculum support. Anthony has been an acknowledged
expert in this area for many years: his advice is constantly being
sought by schools and often this will be linked to the ICT Mark
process. Many schools are moving away from QCA Units of Study,
using ICT in a truly cross-curricular way that is embedded in
all areas of learning, and we can support this process.
Training. Gatehouse personnel have been involved
in a variety of training opportunities including
organising sessions on Early Years for cluster
support and in-school support
successful ICT Mark Awareness half days in
Plymouth, Carmarthenshire and Cornwall leading to schools gaining
support and eventual assessment
organising an ICT Coordinators' Day Conference
in South Wales with our partners, Angelsoft: we have been asked
to run another day in 2010
in-house training for web design and technical
support
bespoke in-service training to support schools'
needs as outlined in our new Course Directory
School ICT Technical surveys and support. Tony
has been carrying out hardware surveys in primary schools for
over 15 years and he has an acknowledged expertise in this area
that they will continue to develop over the coming years, offering
independent advice.
Early years (3-5). Gale, with 15 years' recent
headship experience and a passion for early learning, supports
early learning centres, nurseries, play groups and reception classes
as teachers and Teaching Assistants come to realise the potential
of ICT. Please see Early Years for
more information.
Web site support and design. Tony runs courses
for ICT managers and teachers on this but also works with individual
schools as required.
Analogue to digital. Tony now offers an economically
priced analogue to digital conversion of paper, film, video and
audio resources that creates valuable material for all areas of
the curriculum.
Support/brokering for national, international
and independent schools: Gatehouse has had experience of, and
is interested in supporting, schools worldwide in their requirements
and can put together an appropriate team drawing upon their links
with professional expertise across the curriculum. Gale recently
led a team that looked at eight areas of learning in an International
Independent Primary School in Hong Kong: please read her Headline
article on this process and contact
her if you require further details. Recently the company started
working on the ICT Mark process with the Girls' Day School Trust
and over the coming three years will work in all 29 establishments.
ICT software and peripheral support installations.
Tony runs courses for ICT managers and technicians as well as
teaching and non-teaching staff and provides advice to schools
on the latest developments. These can be differentiated into level
1 and 2 courses according to need.
Assessment and levelling. Anthony is a leading
expert in this field and supports schools through in-service opportunities
with staff, and SRF/ICT Mark support sessions.
Teaching and learning. Using ICT to support
teaching and learning is a fundamental element of the current
educational process. All three directors have vast experience
in this area and will be led by Gale who has the most recent current
expertise.
Parental Engagement for
Online Learning. The Government has, in the past six months, introduced
a timetable for all schools to provide Parental Engagement for
Online Reporting. Gatehouse Partnership has been commissioned
by Becta to write online Case Study reviews in Primary, Secondary
and Special Schools nationally where the process of online reporting
to parents is at an advanced stage. As a result, we have built
up a very interesting portfolio of varied approaches, both in
individual schools and through Local Authorities. As well as running
courses to support all those who will be involved in this process,
we will be continuing to work for Becta over the coming year and
would be prepared to work in individual schools as appropriate.
