Working in conjunction with major providers of computers, computer peripherals, and cabled and wireless network infrastructures, Gatehouse Partnership Ltd can provide the following services and support to the curriculum ICT provision for Infant, Junior, Primary and Special schools.

  • Powerful peer to peer client network solution with central storage system(s).
  • Individual standalone client solutions.
  • Solutions built on preferred manufacturer’s equipment, but can be tailored to operate on almost any manufacturers’ equipment provided it meets specified standards.
  • Assessment and advice on the enhancement and progression of the ICT infrastructure.
  • Installation of software to individual client machines or whole networked infrastructures.
  • Support of third party networked and peer to peer solutions subject to satisfactory assessment prior to any agreement.
  • Problem solving – hardware and software – networked and stand alone.
  • Extensions and additions to existing ICT provision.
  • Quotations chargeable at our standard rates. 50% of the charge refundable on the take up of the quoted solution.

Client / Server Network Solution

The choice of preference, offering the powerful Microsoft Windows 2003 Server and Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating systems.

The recommended server hardware incorporates twin Intel Xeon Processors, with 1 Gigabyte of memory and twin 200 Gigabyte hard disk drives mirrored for data integrity. Data backup is provided by an integral tape storage device coupled with reliable and easy to use automated backup software. Massive storage for future curricular needs.

The recommended client computer hardware incorporates an Intel Pentium processor, 512 Megabytes of memory and an 80 Gigabyte hard disk drive. With a choice of optical storage devices, CD; DVD; DVD/CD Re-writer; DVD re-writer both single and dual layer, the varying needs of customers can readily be met.

This solution offers centralised printing and storage, private and shared data areas, centralised control of the Internet browser Favourite Web Sites and the ability to serve compliant software titles.

Designed for ease of use and management, there is no requirement to be a “Microsoft Expert” to keep this system functioning. Automated backups and antivirus software updates are standard. Handover training and three months of free technical support is standard.

Peer to Peer Client Network Solution

This is a solution for those with more restricted budgets. Offering the same standard of client computers as described above and so preparing the way for a future upgrade to a full client / server network solution.

Utilising network attached storage devices, this solution offers centralised printing and storage, shared data areas, centralised control of the Internet browser Favourite Web Sites and the ability to serve compliant software titles.

Stand Alone Computer Solution

Utilising the same standard of computer as described previously, this solution allows for future upgrades to either Peer to Peer Client Network or full Client / Server Network solutions.

The PCs can be built with all required software pre-installed from standard images, so speeding up the installation process.

Preferred Manufacturer’s Equipment

The quality of the computer equipment, and the support offered by the manufacturers of that equipment is a very important component of a successful ICT solution. Whilst the solutions on offer can be built on a variety of manufacturers’ equipment, there are guidelines and component types that are more strongly preferred than others. Such matters would be discussed during consultation meetings. In the world of ICT, you do get what you pay for.

Installation of Software

One of the most time consuming aspects of maintaining an ICT Infrastructure is the installation of new software to multiple machines. Utilising a variety of techniques, Gatehouse Partnership Ltd can offer a software installation service to Infant, Junior and Primary schools.

Support Of Third Party Systems

Gatehouse Partnership Ltd can also provide support for systems originally supplied by other providers, subject to a satisfactory assessment (chargeable) of the current state of the system(s).
