I have had 25 years' teaching experience
in middle and primary schools. I was a deputy head for 14 years,
had a period as acting head and was assistant director at the Curriculum
Centre, Southampton for a year.
I was a Teacher Adviser for Primary ICT in
Hampshire LEA for 16 years. My main areas of work were primary software
and hardware development. Special projects included working on a
software ‘Toolbox' , and writing curriculum and software guides.
I advised schools on IT hardware, software, network installations
and infrastructures and managing broadband installation in several
school clusters. I provided support to schools embarking on NOF
Training from the Learning Schools Programme as school and teacher
adviser.
Since the formation of Gatehouse I have provided
advice and support to schools embarking on the installation of new
curriculum ICT systems and upgrading existing installations. I have
been working with several schools to develop their web sites and
upload them to the internet. I have been involved in the SLICT
training programme delivery with the Hampshire team working all
over the country. I am continuing to provide support with a range
of courses provided by Hampshire's Educational Training Service,
covering areas such as web site design,
digital photography, digital video and sound and ICT coordinator
and school IT technician courses. I
am offering support to schools who wish to convert their analogue
resources into a digital media that can provide valuable ICT
resources.
I am married and Sheila and I both enjoy
a love of Cornwall and spend as much time as possible there. With
a children’s author and illustrator in our road, our Cornish
retreat has a magic all of its own http://gwinleyhaven.co.uk
We have five tortoises – three females
and two males. We enjoy walking, off-roading, boating, fishing,
photography and DIY.
