Web Site Design
Web site design is another key curriculum service
to that we are able to offer to schools and other educational establishments.
Tony can offer advice and support in
the upgrade of an existing site or provide a newly constructed site
to the personal needs of each establishment.
We have worked closely with two schools –
Berrywood Primary and Fryern Infants to provide new web sites that
can be managed in house.
Berrywood web site went live in September 2006:

Fryern web site was completed in August 2007:

Ownership of your web
site
This is a key factor in the design process that we offer. Our key
objective is to provide schools with a web site that they can manage
and contribute information to as simply as possible and enable the
information contained in the site to be kept updated and relevant.
Existing Web Sites
We can work with a school to develop an existing web site. This
can be uploaded to the county web space area if located with another
provider. It is possible to incorporate existing sites into a web
design package such as Dreamweaver.
New Sites
We can work with a school to create a new web site. This process
usually begins with a flow diagram with contributions from all school
colleagues and children. The site can be constructed using direct
html programming or incorporated into a web authoring package such
as Dreamweaver. From this an empty framework or template is constructed
and material is then added. Regular visits to the school ensure
the site develops appropriately.
Cost
It’s always difficult to cost a project such as this due to
the size of the web site and if it is existing or new. We tend to
charge £70 (on site visit) and £50 (off site working)
per hour but this is flexible in its application depending on the
work involved. Upgrading a site may take about 8 hours working time
a new site will take longer depending on its complexity. The initial
consultation hour visit on site is free.
